May 4, 2016 - May 5, 2016High Contrast Imaging on Segmented Apertures Workshop
Direct imaging of habitable exoplanets around a significant sample of nearby stars and identification of life signatures on the best targets will require large aperture telescope(s) able to perform detailed spectroscopic characterization. Such (a) telescope(s) will almost certainly be segmented, and will be equipped with (a) high performance starlight suppression system(s). Centrally obscured and segmented apertures present unique challenges for coronagraphs and wave-front control systems.
